Peer Review

Peer reviews are crucial aspects of the recursive writing process. I read and reviewed my peers’ rough draft and highlighted, underlined, and wrote comments on the major. My peer review was done in person. I read the essay and then was able to give comments on paper and verbally. Some of my comments included suggestions on spots to go more in depth, fix a citation, and underlined some spots that needed clarification. I also looked out for small sentence level structural issues, citation errors, and things that did not read as well as it could.  My peer and I discussed all of the great aspects of the paper and what could be improved. Then, I handed over a copy of my draft to receive comments as well. There were underlines and margin comments. My comments included needing to revise my introduction and conclusion. I neglected to have a consistent thesis and points. Some parts also failed to read as clearly as I wanted them to. The peer view opened my eyes to errors that I could not identify. It can be an especially valuable tool to have a non biased source review your work. I appreciated my conversation with my peers and felt that I got a lot out of it. I hope that my peers feel the same about my feedback.
